Jackson Group was contracted by Applied Ecological Services to conduct a mist-net survey for the proposed Bellevue Wind Farm in Huron county, Ohio.

This primary objective of this project was to use mist-net surveys and radio-tracking to document the spatial and temporal use and distribution of bats.

Five net sites were selected across the project area totaling 20 net nights. Mist-netting followed guidelines set forth by the USFWS and the Indiana Bat Recovery Team to survey summer habitat for the presence/absence of the federally endangered Indiana bat.

Survey efforts resulted in 28 bats being captured comprised of four species, including an  16 big brown bats (Eptesicus fuscus), 7 Eastern red bats (Lasiurus borealis), 3 little brown bats (Myotis lucifugus), and 2 Northern long-eared bats (Myotis septentrionalis).
